JCPenney’s Virtual Fashion Show

I remember reading an article in recent years about JCPenney re-branding themselves. I was on there website and I thought it was really interesting that they have a in the women’s clothing section a women’s fashion show where you can see the latest fashion trends with an actual person walking on the virtual fashion show. You can see the clothing from all angles as if it were real fashion show. Then next to the model there is a button that says get this outfit. When you click on it a new window opens up where it displays all the components of the outfit where you can add each one to build the look seen in the fashion show or whatever pieces you liked. I think this is definitely a great way to engage the consumer to the brand as well as JCPenney’s products. The customer is literally seeing what the outfit looks like how to build the look and within a click can purchase it. I think this yet another way how braning effects consumers in and effective way.

Design Folios with Google Maps

I was checking out a few of my favorite blogs and when I saw this I had to post it!

Using an application, like CASA’s Image Cutter or the Automatic Tile Cutter, you can create your own map tiles for Google Maps. This means that you can replace image map tiles with any image tiles you like including other maps, or more importantly for designers and artist, replace them with portfolio images! How incredibly cool!

Hollister Ride The Wave

The EPIC 5-story Hollister store in Soho opened in July of this year. I really loved the story behind this as well as the web design and video. Hollister created screen savers, desktop background and even postcards for Ride The Wave.

DC Website Stencil Kit

I came across this stencil from a tweet from Twitter.Design Commission designed a web stencil for designing on the web.  It’s the essential tool to protype a website on paper. I’m going to order one for myself and maybe a friend. Think this is an interesting concept and tool for brainstorming on the web and for online media.

Prettyloaded.com

A friend introduced me to this website prettyloaded that archives preloaders which was designed by BIG SPACESHIP in Brooklyn.
