Apirat Infahsaeng

So I was going through an old New York Magazine that I had marked with a bunch of post-its and flags with great design examples and came across this awesome type. I loved the typography in this spread and I looked up the illustrator who created this type. Apirat Infahsaeng has created posters, illustrations and tshirts. His amazing work has been in many known magazines.

brüno

So I’m back from the sunny state of San Diego (oh how I miss it!) with plenty of exciting things to share! But first I couldn’t help but share this poster design for brüno that I saw in NYC. It stopped me while racing to the train. I really liked the graffiti feel of this and wanted to find out more about this movie.

Andrews & Dunham Damn fine tea!

I came across the Damn Fine Tea packaging and fell in love with it! They are all well designed and have a feel but all excellently designed. They were designed by Aesthetic Apparatus a design firm in Minnesota.

Green Depot was another stop on our Cool Hunting tour. Green Depot is a store which carries environmentally friendly, sustainable and “green” products. I really enjoyed the design of the interior space as well as the packaging design of the various products. I also thought the use of type with the paint cans was very interesting and instantly grasped my attention.

Periodic Table of Typefaces

A co-worker of mine sent me this image of the Periodic Table of Typefaces. I thought this was a unique way of exhibiting typefaces.

Scribbler

cards

While in London before getting onto the Tube my friend Kristen and I came across Scribbler, a card and stationery store. The Love From me cards is what Kristen was after. I however enjoyed the beautiful typography and design of many of their cards and notebooks.

Spaghetti House

During my travels in London one day I was riding on the bus and saw this restaurant front and my first thought was wow awesome typography! So at the next stop I got off the bus and proceeded to go to the Spaghetti House and take a picture of it all because of it’s unique type solution.  Again two great things great signage and great Italian food.  Once I was home I looked at there website and was happy to see the branding was consistent from the store front, the interior of the restaurant, menu design and also the website. The typographic solution to there branding is what makes this Spaghetti House far from ordinary.

City Type Driven Posters

orkposters_manhattan

One of my co-workers had this cool type driven Brooklyn background on his phone. I was amazed and had to see if there was one of Manhattan or any other cities. This is when I discovered Ork Posters. They are awesome typographic posters of  most city neighborhoods and are printed with the environment in mind as they used recycled paper and soy-based inks. I may have to order the screen print of Manhattan.
