I was very pleased to start 2011 off with Communication Arts first Typography Annual. It is a nice addition to the other annuals.

So I was going through an old New York Magazine that I had marked with a bunch of post-its and flags with great design examples and came across this awesome type. I loved the typography in this spread and I looked up the illustrator who created this type. Apirat Infahsaeng has created posters, illustrations and tshirts. His amazing work has been in many known magazines.

When waiting at the doctor’s office yesterday I grabbed this cover off the table knowing it was a work of Shepard Fairley. This would be something I would take home and keep (thinking I should have picked this up at the newsstand weeks ago). I thumbed through the magazine and the entire design of the TIME Person of the Year issue in particularly the Time Person of the year section. See some of the images used in it here.
