Street Sweets

I walk outside today and see this eccentric bright colored food truck with great typography. Street Sweets food truck has croissants that you can choose any filling from almond butter to nutella, cookies, cupcakes, quiches, scones, muffins, danishes and many more treats! Everything is beautifully designed from their truck, business card and to-go packaging. Sweet Treats is currently on 57th and 8th. You can follow them on twitter for where the truck will be.

Doubletree Chocolate Chip Cookies

I’m not sure how I could forgot to mention this. Upon checking into the Doubletree hotel they greet you with a warm out of the oven delicious chocolate chip cookie. What a great way to be greeting after a long flight. I think this a great way to brand themselves not to mention the free wifi! You can even order this cookies during or after your stay. I would definitely stay at a Doubletree on my next vacation due to these small but significant things.

Juan Valdez Coffee

Upon departing from Newark Airport to San Diego my friend I was traveling with decided to stop for some coffee at Juan Valdez Cafe. The interior space of this coffee cafe was unique due to the wall collage of photographs of Juan Valdez.

Sweet Leaf Tea

I went to the Whole Foods in San Diego in the Hillcrest and discovered Sweet Leaf Tea. I liked the packaging and the illustration of their logo. The way the product is placed on the wooden shelf it looks like the product belongs there as it blends in.

NYC Food Film Festival

The NYC Food Film Festival enables filmgoers to watch food films and then eat the food that they watched in the film. How awesome is that?!? I wish I would have known about this event sooner I would have loved to go. There’s always next year. The last day is tomorrow June 19th.

Bobby’s Burger Palace

Last week I went to one of my favorite chefs, Bobby Flay’s restaurant Bobby’s Burger Palace. The signage was very bold and popped. The interior design of the restaurant was very modern and stylish. And of course my blue cheese burger was delicious along with my sweet potato fries. Little did I know Pentagram designed this identity system and restaurant interior.

papabubble

I was introduced to these tasty treats at Behance’s The 99 Percent Conference. These are streched and made by hand. papabubble is located on Broome Street in Manhattan. I also enjoyed the simplicity of the label and unique packaging which can be found on papabubble’s site.

Andrews & Dunham Damn fine tea!

I came across the Damn Fine Tea packaging and fell in love with it! They are all well designed and have a feel but all excellently designed. They were designed by Aesthetic Apparatus a design firm in Minnesota.

Wegman’s

salami

While shopping at Wegman’s I came across this beautuful type driven pakaging/labels for Volpi’s Italian salami. I really love the color palette and type treatment.

Rick Shaw’s

I recently discovered Rick Shaw’s at the AIGA Dinner Party Event Both the event and the food vendors were awesome. When dining at Rick Shaw’s I loved the sticker of the logo they put on your plate in addition the dipping sauces have a sticker on them that say “dip me” and the salad dressing says “pour me.” I thought this was a great use of the Rick Shaw Brand. A very clever branding strategy to simplify directions into words and stick them on the product. Rick Shaw’s brand is integrated from unique stickers, its interior restaurant design and it’s website. And of course the delicious dumplings! Picture courtesy of Rick Shaw’s
